Chicago Bulls 2020–2021 Salaries: What To Expect?

In August 2020, the Chicago Bulls Executive Vice President - Basketball Operations, Arturas Karnisovas, announced that head coach Jim Boylen was no longer the team’s head coach. This change, though later than many had hoped, cues a new direction for the Chicago Bulls.

This news has swiftly drawn the media’s attention towards the team, with many fans feeling hopeful for the team’s future performance. In the mean time, the public takes interest in looking the players’ salaries in the 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 season.

In the 2020–2021 NBA season, the graph shows that the youngest player in the team is Patrick Williams (19 years old), making approximately $7 million in his first season, while the oldest player, Garrett Temple, makes approximately $4.7 million. Otter Porter is the most-paid player at approximately $28.5 million, which is 19 times more than the least-paid player, Zach Norwell at approximately $1.5 million.

The average age of the team is 25.3 years, with 60% of the players being within the range of 21 to 27 years old. Shifting form 2019–2020 to the 2020–2021 season, there is little change of salary of the players. About 40% of the players are paid within the range of $4 million and $7 million.

On Monday (3/1), the Chicago Bulls had a match with the Denver Nuggets, which ended with a 118–112 loss. Looking into the Denver Nugget’s salaries, Chicago Bull’s most-paid player is in the small forward position, while Denver Nugget’s most-paid player is in the shooting guard position. There is also a slight shift from the highest-paid amount to the lowest-paid amount in the Chicago Bulls, which is not the case for the Denver Nuggets. This is a way a person with little background about basketball can start looking to understand each team’s tactics.
